Also besides the buses run by the Government, the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation manages and runs the deluxe buses in the state, which connects Ranchi with the other major cities and popular tourist destinations spread throughout the state.
The main medium of local transportation in the city is through buses. Buses take up over 90% of the public transportation in the cities of India. In some cases, the taxi drivers charge the customer as per the amount shown in the meter. In case of Auto rickshaws, apart from the regular auto rickshaws, there are also shared autos available for short distances. These auto rickshaws charge a smaller fee as they charges from each of the shared customer. Usually, the charges during the night time are slightly higher as compared to the charges during the day time.
